Where yachting & food collide…from The Captain’s Concierge
The Captain’s Concierge staff attends many different trade-only events in search of new products for yacht crews. This past Sunday, I had whirlwind trip to New York City - down and back on Amtrak in one day to attend the New York Restaurant Show. The show’s target audience is food service businesses from high-end to institutional.
The aisles were jammed packed with attendees of all types - probably the most people I’ve seen in one place all winter. The range of exhibitors spans from micro-greens to mixers that can handle 100 lbs of dough. There were fewer exhibitors as the economy has affected marketing budgets.
The economy has also slowed down innovation and cutting-edge trends on display. The trends I saw were tweaks on previous trends:
Until there is a provisioning trade show, we’ll continue spending our time searching for the latest and greatest products to assist you in creating fabulous food onboard. I found some new products that The Captain’s Concierge will have available for yacht chefs this summer. Please get in touch with us and we’ll gladly send you our latest catalog.
