Where yachting & food collide…from The Captain’s Concierge
Today, we completed a fabulous job onboard m/v Nantucket Lightship docked here at the Newport Shipyard. In preparation for an open house this Friday from 3-7 pm, Team Maggie from Boat Nanny, sister company to The Captain’s Concierge, cleaned & detailed the interior.
This is one of the most unique vessels I’ve ever been onboard and judging by the Wows from our crew they feel same. The rugged, industrial exterior hides a spacious, luxurious interior. With an overall length of 128 feet and a 30 foot beam, there is 4,000 feet of interior space on two levels with 5 cabins, 3 social rooms, 6 heads and a large galley. The interior feels like a classic New England waterfront cottage.
The boat underwent an extensive refit in 2003 to bring up to it’s current spectacular condition. She was built in 1950 for The United States Coast Guard and was stationed in California and Nantucket as an active duty lightship - sort of a floating lighthouse. Officially known as WLV612, she was decommissioned in 1985 after marking the Nantucket Shoals (about 45 miles Southeast of Nantucket island) for transatlantic boats.
Boat Nanny and The Captain’s Concierge have an extensive background in assisting brokers, captains, crew and owners with these type of events. We have managed, staged, hosted parties and showings for the Newport Bucket, boat and charters shows and showings/viewings.
